Seeking God

        Father God,

        You have brought me to this place in my life, with the circumstances I'm experiencing, the people I'm involved with, because You desire to be invited into my life more fully. Father, please quiet the thoughts and feelings that prevent me from opening myself to You completely. Confuse and weaken the enemy who seeks to block me from inviting you in. Help me to resist the distractions of daily life that prevent me from opening my heart to You.

        Father, I ask that You move what I know about You from my head to my heart, so that I go beyond knowing about you to knowing You as my Heavenly Father. I want nothing more than a close, intimate relationship with You. But I recognize that the desire and my own will is just the beginning--I also need the grace and mercy You have promised us. Cleanse my heart and purify my motivations. Direct me to Your Word and bring into my life the people and resources that can help me to walk closer to You.

         I thank You and praise You, Heavenly Father: Creator of the universe, the One who made the oceans and the seas, Who made all the stars and the planets, and each animal and plant. That You, Father, would also want a relationship with me is beyond my understanding. But I gratefully accept Your invitation with every cell in my body.

        May Your will be done...Amen.
